An oversight board has been set up to independently review content decisions made by Facebook – and it has now issued its first rulings.
The board was established last year in the wake of criticism over the social network’s handling of controversial posts.
In its first quarterly update, the board said it had received more than 9,000 submissions from users between October 2020 and December 2020.
Of those cases, the board overturned Facebook’s decision in 26% of them.
