Top Central Government Schemes For Girl Children

Patriarchal societies have discriminated against women and girls for centuries. As a result, there has been a gradual shift in attitudes and there has been a growing awareness of how to provide equal opportunities for girls in society. The government of India places many schemes in place in order to ensure that every girl child has the opportunity to succeed and progress in life, despite the numerous obstacles that stand in the way of girls throughout their lives. These schemes include:

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

There is a central government initiative called Beti Bachao Beti Padhao that assists girls around the country. Children may be protected from social issues, such as gender-based abortion, and their education may be improved through this program. Having been successful in some regions of the country, the initiative has now been extended to other regions. Rather than providing financial support, this is mainly an educational program.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Women and Child Development, and Ministry of Human Resource Development collaborated on the initiative.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

Samriddhi Yojana Accounts are small investment schemes for girl children. Parents may establish a trust that will cover their child’s education and marriage expenses in the future. To eliminate the idea that a girl child is a financial burden on her parents, the book encourages parents to set aside money for their daughters’ higher education and marriage. SSA is a more popular scheme among parents than other government programs for girl children.

Balika Samridhi Yojana

Scholarships are provided to poor girls and their families as part of the Balika Samriddhi Yojana. Among the scheme’s main objectives are improving girls’ social status, increasing their marriageable age, and increasing enrolment, especially among females.

These female child benefit programs are available both in urban and rural areas. Financial assistance is provided to all eligible beneficiaries. 

Mukhyamantri Laadli Yojana

A savings plan, the Mukhyamantri Laadli Yojana provides contributions to the government. The program has targeted toward parents who have daughters. The initial investment in the post office savings account required under this scheme is Rs.6000 for a term of five years. 

Nanda Devi Kanya Yojana

Uttarakhand is the only state with a program like Nanda Devi Kanya Yojana. The scheme provides for a fixed deposit of Rs. 1,500 has placed on behalf of a newborn girl child. The girl child has given the principal sum, along with any interest accrued, once she turns 18 and has completed her further education.

Dhan Lakshmi Yojana from CG

As you all know, in India, when a girl child is born in a family, the foremost concern of the family is her education. This is the main goal of this Chhattisgarh Dhan Lakshmi Yojana of the state government. The state government will provide for his education and marriage. Now, the government has launched this Chhattisgarh Dhan Laxmi Yojana, which is a great relief to the families who are seeking financial support so that their daughters can grow up.

Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana

This was the mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana introduced in Rajasthan. In this program, female parents are provided with financial assistance from the time of their birth until the end of their schooling.

CBSE Udaan Scheme 

As a part of the CBSE Udaan scheme for girls, the Central Board of Secondary Education coordinates its management. Administration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development. A national government scheme that aims to increase the number of girls enrolled in prestigious engineering and technical colleges across India, this is one of the most important government schemes for girls in India.
